I am a complete sucker for buying a new mascara every time I go shopping, but there are a few that I always pick up when I’m getting low and keep in my makeup bag. I find although I buy new mascaras all the time, I don’t like a lot of the ones I end up buying. So here’s my Top 3 that you might like to try.
1. Bourjois – ‘Liner Effect’
I am in love with this mascara. It is definitely number one on my list. The applicator is very fine plastic bristles and I feel it’s one of the only ones that really separates out my lashes. It also makes them look so much longer. I am lucky I have (relatively) long eyelashes anyway so this helps but it does draw them out even more so. I only buy black mascaras so I am unsure if this comes in any other colours. It doesn’t tend to clump either which is obviously a bonus. The writing has worn off of mine as it’s a bit old now so I apologise for the picture not being great. This is definitely my Best Buy in the mascara department.
2. Bourjois – ‘Volume 1 Seconde’
It has to be another bourjois one for my second too. This one has a slightly fatter applicator but still seperates out my lashes. Mine is very worn now but I always find I go back to it and always end up re-purchasing it when it starts to get a bit low. This is also another plastic bristle applicator. The thing I like about this one is you always end up with a lot on the bristles. This means you don’t have to apply a lot of layers for it to make a difference. Mine is in the limited edition packaging, it is usually in a silver tube. This one is particularly great because you can also get it in a waterproof version, so you can choose which you prefer.
3. Avon – ‘Supershock’
This mascara is a bit difficult to get hold of if you don’t have an Avon representative near you. The only reason I am able to get it is because my Grandma is able to order it for me. But this is seriously one of the best mascaras I have used. It separates out my lashes and makes them look a lot longer just like the bourjois ones. The price is good and it does come in a few other colours I believe if you prefer something different to black.
From what I have found, you can only get the ‘Bourjois Liner Effect’ in Boots. However, you are able to get the ‘Bourjois 1 Seconde’ in either Boots or Superdrug, this goes for both the normal and the waterproof version. They are all reasonably priced as they are high-Street buys. So, give them a try and let me know your thoughts on them.
