Review: Soap and Glory Hocus Focus

After looking at it in the shops for months now and debating it over and over I finally invested in the 'Soap and Glory Hocus Focus illuminator'. It's been around for a while now but I never really thought much of it and it never interested me. However I have always seen very good reviews on it so thought I would give it a go.

I tried it first as a highlighter and if I'm honest, I hated it. It moved my foundation even when only applying a small amount and didn't blend easily without moving my foundation further. I thought I had made my mind up then that it was not for me and in my opinion, did not live up to the hype.

I then decided to mix it with my foundation which is what it suggests you can do and this is what did it for me. It gives you a glowy look. (I know what you're thinking, (obviously it's a highlighter'). It gives you a kind of fresh dewy look without leaving your skin looking and feeling oily as opposed to fresh. I have been using it most days and a little bit goes a long way. It's very pretty especially if you are going out in the evening. We had a wedding to go to and it just makes you look and feel that little bit more fresh faced.

Overall this has definitely got me on board and it will now be a staple in my makeup bag. If anyone else has used this it would be lovely to know your thoughts, especially using it as a highlighter.

Until next time…
